Tatu is a collective of people with different skills, perspectives and experience, brought together by shared values and a commitment to thoughtful, practical work. Our founders, project leads and associated consultants work as one network, with the right mix of people coming together around each organisation and challenge. Founders
Beezie Burden
Clients and Growth
Beezie brings more than 15 years of experience in conservation communications, partnership development and fundraising. She has worked with organisations including EarthRanger, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Natural Capital and the Grumeti Fund. Her work spans communications strategy, creative direction, media, storytelling and film. She has produced more than 40 short films and works closely with organisations to communicate complex conservation work clearly and credibly.
Sanne Bitter
Systems and Quality
Sanne is a strategy consultant with experience across conservation organisations, government, NGOs and the private sector. She works with organisations to develop strategies, structures, systems and practical management tools that translate long term direction into day to day implementation. Before Tatu, she was Strategy Director at Northern Rangelands Trust and a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where her work included climate and sustainability strategy and strategic roadmaps for international companies, public sector organisations and NGOs.
Stephanie Sluka
People and Network
Steph is an international development professional who has led global fundraising teams across humanitarian, development and conservation organisations. Her experience spans strategic planning, fundraising, proposal development, grants management, team leadership and organisational development. She has raised more than USD 250 million from institutional funders, foundations, private donors and public campaigns. Before Tatu, she served as Global Director of Funding at African Parks, where she grew annual fundraising from approximately USD 35 million to more than USD 100 million and built fundraising capacity across an international network.

Emily Marten
Executive coaching and leadership
Emily is an executive coach and leadership development practitioner working with senior leaders and teams. Her work focuses on leadership development, team effectiveness and organisational change.
Fanny Paravicini
Community and legal rights
Fanny works at the intersection of conservation and human rights, with experience across Central and West Africa. Her work focuses on community engagement, FPIC, safeguards, governance and conservation in complex and conflict affected environments.
Karen Steiner
CONSERVATION LAW AND POLICY
Karen is a French South African environmental lawyer with experience across conservation law, policy, safeguards, multi stakeholder partnerships, grant management and funding strategy.
Dr Lauren Evans
Social sciences and community
Lauren has worked across conservation in East Africa for 15 years, with particular expertise in conservation conflict, community engagement, human wildlife coexistence and equitable governance. She previously led conservation science at Space for Giants and is an accredited conflict mediator.
Mike Pflanz
Press and media
Mike is a former Africa Correspondent for the Daily Telegraph and advises conservation organisations on media strategy, senior staff training and complex reputational issues.
Sharon Petrie
Fundraising
Sharon is an international fundraising and communications leader with experience across conservation, human rights and humanitarian organisations. Her work includes fundraising strategy, major donor engagement, team development and building international fundraising operations.
Vega Hall Martin
Fundraising
Vega specialises in fundraising for African conservation in Asia Pacific. She previously established and led African Parks’ fundraising presence across the region, developing donor networks in markets including Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
Victoria Clause
Regenerative agriculture
Victoria brings more than 15 years of experience across regenerative agriculture, food systems, digital innovation and sustainable land use in African markets. Her work spans private sector businesses, NGOs, donors and public sector institutions.

Borny Adala
Press and content
Borny is a communications and creative professional with experience across graphic design, public relations, writing and brand development. She supports Tatu in turning complex ideas into clear, engaging visual materials and communications. Borny studied Communication at Daystar University, with a focus on electronic media and public relations.
Haimanot Tirfie
MAPPING AND INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING
Haimanot brings extensive experience in international development and institutional fundraising. She supports Tatu with donor research and funding landscape mapping, helping organisations identify relevant opportunities and better understand the funders around their work. She currently works in institutional partnerships at Equality Now and has built a long career across international development and fundraising.
Kwakho Nqinana
Fellow
Kwakho brings a background in political science, sociology and development studies, with experience across research, policy analysis, administration and stakeholder communications. At Tatu, she helps keep projects organised and moving, supporting research, client communications, digital systems and the development of professional materials. She is currently completing a Master’s in Development Studies at the University of Pretoria, with research focused on inequality, inclusion and socio economic mobility in South Africa.
Mikhail Kuzi
Brand identity and graphic
Mikhail is a marketer, designer and creative strategist with more than 15 years of experience in graphic design, brand development and creative direction. He co founded Avocado Creative Studio in Nairobi and supports Tatu in translating organisational ideas and positioning into strong visual identities and digital experiences. His wider work includes brand and creative support for conservation organisations.
Tara Shupe
Filmmaking and visual storytelling
Tara is a photographer and filmmaker with more than 10 years of experience telling stories across conservation, communities and social impact. Her work has taken her across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, with clients including National Geographic and Disney+, Grumeti Fund and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. She works closely with organisations from the earliest story development through filming, directing and editing, with a strong emphasis on relationships, ethics and understanding the people behind the story.
Zaira Jusufbegovic
RESEARCH AND MEDIA SUPPORT
Zaira brings an international perspective across business, technology and mission driven work. She studied Business Administration at IE University and has experience with Digital Abyssinia Technologies in Ethiopia, alongside interests in climate education, systems thinking and social impact. She supports Tatu with research and project work where these perspectives are useful.
